Duo Cristobal PAZMIÑO / Floriane CHARLES (Ecuador/France)

It was in 2006. I knew Floriane Charles and Cristobal Pazmino for having shared moments of friendship and music with them. Those moments when it is natural to pick up a guitare and say “Watch this !“ while you take another one and say “Show me !“. Traditionally, music is synonymous with sharing, emulation, passion. No competition, just the love of things well done, and the need to share.

It was in 2006, I went and listened to them in a village close to my hometown. I had the feeling I boarded a plane . Cristobal and Floriane took me on a journey, far away, in South America. Further yet : inside their hearts, from the tip of their fingers, with humour and discretion. The evidence of the intensity : you could forget the extreme technique and the acquired musical background behind the generosity and the involvement. Back on Earth, I could hear the other passengers enthousiastically comment the landscapes, talk about Floriane’s swiftness or Cristobal’s moved memories of Ecuador…

I recommend the trip with them.

Program Friday, April, 13 th 2007 - Minotaure - 20.30.

Curro SAVOY (Spain)

Far better than the nightingale whose sole aim is to win over his partner, Kurt succeeds in winning over the whole world. Need  proof ? Cast your mind
back to the triumphant success of  some musical giants, notably the sound track of the films of
Sergio Leone.
From the music scores of Ennio Morricone “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”,  “Once Upon a time in the West” etc… to the last Claude Berri film, not forgetting the dubbing of Vanessa Paradis for the famous Coco Chanel ad, it’s well and  truly Kurt’s whistle that you  can hear!

Kurt is a true  showman on stage, thanks to his voice, guitar and whistle which transport us into a magic world of dream and reality. His songs  are poignantly sincere and he throws himself wholeheartedly into each performance and makes us come alive with every one of them. Absolutely unforgettable!

Juan FALÙ (Argentina)

In his dual role as composer and artist, Juan Falú is a cornerstone of Argentinean folk music.

He obtained the prestigious National Music Award in 2000, and has been named "outstanding artist" by the music press in Argentina on several occasions.

His music for guitar recreates the freshness and inventiveness of Argentinean folk rhythms, and many of his songs are already a established part of  the repertoire of the most outstanding Argentinean folk musicians.

As an interpreter, Juan Falu employs his vast knowledge of the different Argentinean folk rhythms, and displays an innate command of the artistry of improvisation. Add to this combination his natural charisma, and you have a recital in which each song is delivered in a unique style. He has received praise from different musicians for his improvisational skills and the accomplished classical guitarist, Eduardo Fernandez called him "a real time composer".

He has toured Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and
has given concerts in prestigious venues in more than twenty countries.

Several of his recordings are considered among the best recordings of the year, as noted in the Argentinean and international  guitar music press. Some of his prolific musical compositions have been published in Argentina, Belgium, Costa Rica, and France.

Juan Falú remains a vital musical force in his community, where he directs the Festival Guitars of the World, considered the largest international event of  its genre. He also teaches in the Manuel de Falla Conservatory, in Buenos Aires, where he created the first Folklore and
Tango course.
