Le programme 2018 : Geneva Guitar Gang

Four guitars and a bass. Twenty-nine strings counting the low B of the bass. Five musicians who have played together for ten years and have developed a style worthy of a classical quintet, with groove on top. Here they present a new project, starring Charles Mingus, composer of genius who excelled in ballads of haunting beauty, as well as blues with a frantic tempo and catchy riffs. All this, GGG refines with the filter of humbuckers, adding to the menu Miles, Monk, and an original composition, alternating between their own arrangements and those of Jack Wilkins or Barry Galbraith, two big names of jazz guitar.

In their unassuming style, they perform without sheet music, that is to say with their hearts, following paths of improvisation. Five personalities who, although playing the same instruments, are radically different: Philippe Jenni, with his L5; Sylvie Canet, faithful to her black Gibson ; Marcel Moratti, Manu Araoz and Nicolas Lambert, an elegant bassist playing with a solid tempo.
